Being a better blogger: Thank your commenters

If I have learned one thing from Dave Burke, the guy who "runs just about the most polite blog in the entire blogosphere", is that you should reply to each and every person who takes the time to leave a comment on your blog.

Daniel from Daily Blog Tips suggests to Send Thank You Emails to each first time commenter and to those reviewing your blog or leaving comments. In fact I received an email from Daniel after recently leaving a comment on his site for the first time.

So now I have to come up with a new policy to recognize nice posts like this one!  A Christmas Card is definitely on the action list.

Thanks, Dan.  Responding to every comment is actually something I believe strongly about. It's mostly because blogging to me is mostly about creating relationships and making existing relationships stronger--as ours has become over the last couple of years, I'd have to say.

I wish I was as nice in real life as I am on my blog, but thanks for saying that.

Oh, and there's no need to reply to this post. :-)

Dave, I saved that Jayson Knight post because I knew that quote would come in handy some day! Thanks for sharing.

  3. Dave, thanks for thanking Dan for thanking me for the quote, and thanks to both of you guys for your continued thankfulness!

I keed. I've fallen behind on thanking commenters myself and need to get back into that habit.

Jayson, thanks for thanking Dave for thanking me for thanking you... I give, I give. UNCLE!
