I attended the CodeMash conference last year and it was phenomenal. I highly recommend this year's version for anyone within a day's drive.
CodeMash is a "non-denominational" regional conference with presentations about everything from .NET to Java, PHP, Ruby, Python, Perl, etc. Drawing together a bunch of passionate people from each of these areas promotes a lot collaboration and experimentation.
It really is a great event and it's super cheap (currently about $175) and rooms are available at the hotel for as low as $89 per night, which is a big discount from the normal rates.
Oh yeah, the conference is held at the Kalahari Resort indoor water park in Sandusky, OH (northern Ohio about an hour's drive west of Cleveland, about 2 hours north of Columbus and about 3.5 hours north of Cincinnati and Dayton). Admission to the water park is included with the hotel stay. A lot of attendees brought their families last year, me included, and they had a blast. I'll be doing the same this year. There are several pretty good restaurants in the facility and a couple of bars :). Once you get to the hotel you won't have to leave the building until it's time to go home.
The list of speakers and topics looks very impressive again. Keynote presenters are Scott Hanselman, Brian Goetz, and Neal Ford.
I know it will be a great event. It will definitely be worth your time, ask anyone who attended last year and they will wholeheartedly agree.
