My blog has a new home

Published to Blog on 19 Jan 2010

I finally took the plunge and moved my blog (http://danhounshell.com) to Graffiti. No need to update links to RSS feeds, all that should be handled seamlessly by Feedburner.

This blog was born in 2004 on Scott Watermasysk’s .Text platform. In 2006 I migrated from .Text to Community Server. This past week I migrated from Community Server 2007 to Graffiti CMS 1.3 beta. The site is now running on the open source version of Graffiti CMS (http://graffiticms.codeplex.com). I have some posts queued up to describe the migration as well as some details about the custom theme. After working with Graffiti for the last week I remembered why I liked the platform so much. In fact I like it so much that this past weekend I joined the team and will soon be contributing to the open source Graffiti project.

Along with the platform change the site needed a new look. The old one was long in the tooth and had become cluttered. If you haven’t been to the site in a while then stop by and take a look.

What do you think of the redesign? Nice and clean? Too minimalistic? Is there too much on the home page? Or have I hit the sweet spot?
