Something in XP SP2 messed up DFS?
Something in XP SP2 messed up DFS?
Though I have a fairly simple network at home (for a developer), I choose to use DFS (Distributed File System) to keep track of all my shares in one place - exactly what DFS was designed for. I have a W2K machine that is a combination web server/database server that runs DFS as well as has several shares on it (one for Inetpub, one for database backup folder, ...), a Linux server that runs a couple of PHP sites, PostgreSQL and some other fun Linux stuff, my primary workstation (XP Pro) which contains...

Service Pack 1 for .NET v1.1 broke my ASP.NET apps, too!
I was reading an entry from Paul Wilson's blog this morning, Service Pack 1 for .NET v1.1 Broke My ASP.NET App , and realized that I am having the same problems. Scott Hanselman wrote about it a few days ago, too. Yesterday I was demonstrating some updates that I had made to a project to our internal team when we realized that something was amiss. Pages with validation controls for form submittals are not behaving properly - they were attempting to validate the form after clicking an asp linkbutton...
Mini .NET CMS
Mini .NET CMS
Recently I found myself in need of a free or inexpensive, lightweight .NET CMS system for a project I am working on. I looked around and found a couple, but nothing that I really liked. I decided that I could probably built one rather quickly to meet my needs so that is what I did. A couple hours one evening, a couple hours the next and it is now about 98% complete, I just need to tie up some loose ends. I was thinking that it would be a nice little thing to give to the community, but I need to check...
Go Team!
Go Team!
It has been a while since I've posted. I've been very busy - lots of projects going on, couple of them just getting started. I discovered yesterday that Onlinefocus received a web award for our work on the FedEx Identity site from the Web Marketing Association . It received a best of class award - 2004 Best Transportation Website . Nice work, Team! While I was not one of the members working on that particular project I will revel in the team accomplishment. Besides, while they were working on that...
Gmail Invitations in Search of Friends
Gmail Invitations in Search of Friends
I have four available Gmail invitations. I need to find friends to give them to - seems I only have two friends! :( It's pretty sad that I have more Gmail invitations than I have friends. First four people commenting to this post will receive an invitation. One additional condition - you have to promise to be my friend... my best friend... forever... Urinal Video Games
Urinal Video Games
You're In Control (Urine Control): Those MIT guys are crazy! A video game to play while you're taking a bathroom break. I told my friend Ken that if this thing ever takes off I will quit my job, drink beer all day, and become the best urinal video gamer in the world! There's got to be money in that somewhere. Death Star Home Theater
Death Star Home Theater
Courtesy of Dave Donaldson's post, Death Star Theater : Pure jaw-dropping astonishment . This so blows away my plans for finishing my basement. It even has Han Solo in carbonite hanging up. Un-freaking-real. I am speachless. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | kick it! | live it!
