The storm has subsided.
The snow has finally stopped - a little more than 24 hours after it started. The damage - somewhere between 18 - 24 inches of snow. Additionally our county has a level 3 snow emergency! Pretty impressive sounding, huh? Just means that only emergency vehicles are allowed on the roads. Violaters can be ticketed, fined, or jailed. We're hoping they cancel that soon, we still need to finish some Christmas shopping.
Another picture for you. My porch is about 2 feet above ground level - it will give you a reference for the height of the snow. The big pile of snow to the left of center is where the snow from the driveway was deposited (from my shovelling 3 times over the past 24 hours!). It is about 4 feet deep!
