Might be able to make use of this is some of our work - nudge, nudge, wink, wink. And it is pretty simple to boot. (via Jason Haley's Interesting Finds ) Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | kick it! | live it!
Interesting news here . Something to take notice of for future reference. But as one of the commentors stated: "...who would ever create folders and files while the app is running? :) That's crazy talk, I'm sure only 65-85% of app devs do it." Whew! Just got everything working. I was getting worried that I might have to roll the site and database back to the backups I made yesterday evening before I started the conversion. It's been touch-and-go the last 18 hours (with about 4 hours of sleep in the middle) - waiting for FTP transfers to finish, then testing, then deleting files, then more FTP'ing, then more testing... rinse and repeat. It only took a couple of minutes to get my local version upgraded and working so I couldn't figure out...
Notes to self: I still need to report my first experience with CruiseControl.NET, NAnt, NUnit, NCover, FXCop, Simian and NDoc, figuring out how it all works together with CC.NET and NAnt and making a plan for implementing automated/continuous builds for Tellus. Additionally I would like to post about my experience with upgrading to Enterprise Library 2.0 (January 2006) from the June 2005 version (ASP.NET 1.1) in a copy of the Tellus ecommerce framework that was converted from 1.1 to 2.0. It actually...
I previously protested the new subscription model of NewsGator and their trying to convert me from a product purchaser to a yearly subscriber. I had installed NewsGator Outlook edition on my workstation at home a couple of years ago and I really liked it. Over the past six months, though, I have almost exclusively used my laptop at the expense of my workstation and I find myself only visiting my workstation once a week or so. It became really hard to keep up with my blog reading. A couple of weeks...
I previously reported on my experience installing and modding this site , built on Community Server, to meet my needs. This week I made another modification - I installed the MetaBlog API for CS 1.1 so I could post to the site using various external tools. My current tool of choice is the Performancing plugin for Firefox. It is really convenient to create a post when I find something worthwhile while browsing. I haven't created a post from the admin section of this site in over a week - everything...

NET Developer is firmly entrenched among the the top ten jobs with the highest demand by employers in the fourth quarter of 2005 . Sweet. (via Jason Haley's Interesting Finds ) Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | kick it! | live it!
Though we (Tellus) and I have continued to adopt many tenets of Agile Development in the past, we have only recently taken on a "complete" agile method in our project development cycle. Because of that I now find this site much funnier than I would have possibly six months ago: Waterfall 2006 (via Addy Santos ) Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | kick it! | live it!
I don't know where this image originated from, but it was sent to me by my brother. Kind of gets right to the point and says something that I know a lot of us have been thinking anyway, whether we've vocalized it or not. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | kick it! | live it!

I was reminded of this last night while I was walking my wife through a short user experience review for a site we did last year - Chef's Catalog . My wife had been poking around the site for a few minutes, stopped for a bit, and asked "how do I get back to the home page?" I looked at the page and realized that it was a good question - there was no "home" link. You can click on the site's logo and be taken back to the home page and there was a link to the homepage in the breadcrumb, but she was still...
