WhatIWantMost: How to post to your Twitter timeline
Last week I attended a presentation about Web 2.0 that described the recurring concepts behind the buzzword and looked at how (as well as if and when) those can be applied to enterprise systems and organizations. One of the points of the presentation was that platforms are better than applications. Companies building platforms rather than just applications are the darlings of the web world. Some of the examples the presenter pointed out were: Facebook, Salesforce.com, Twitter, Wikipedia, Amazon,...

Code to Live - New Videocast Series
Code to Live - New Videocast Series
Keith Elder pointed to a new video series a couple of days ago on Channel9 by Steve Loethen and our own Josh Holmes , Code To Live . I watched the first two episodes and I enjoyed them. The series looks like it will be something a little different and quite fun (and even a little cheesy - in a fun way!). I've subscribed to the feed and I'm really looking forward to the next episode. I saw Josh tonight at a Halo 3 release party, told him that I liked the show and he told me to blog about it. Well...
Up, Down, Touch the Ground
Up, Down, Touch the Ground
A few days ago Tucker (who is now 10 months old!) got a new toy, a singing Winnie the Pooh . It is really cute and he seems to like it. Whenever we sing the song he looks around the room for the toy so he is showing some associative recognition, which is very cool. There is a problem, however. I cannot get the song out of my head. I found myself sitting here humming it a minute ago and realized that I have been doing so all morning! Up, Down, Touch the ground, puts me in the mood. Up, Down, Touch...

Professional Community Server Themes
Professional Community Server Themes
I had the pleasure of working on a great project earlier this year with two very talented co-workers: Wyatt Preul and Ben Tiedt . I served as the Technical Editor for their new Wrox book, Professional Community Server Themes . Between the awesome information provided by Wyatt and Ben and the excellent example set by Rosanne Koneval, the Development Editor, I learned a ton about both Community Server's Theming Engine, Chameleon, and the book development process. It was a great learning experience...

I am Dan Hounshell and I am not a vegetarian (nor do I plan on ever becoming one). However, Alicia Silverstone is a vegetarian. Below is the ad that Comcast Cable pulled from the Houston airwaves tonight because of nudity. You can find the video and more Alicia goodness at Peta.org . Ken is worried that my blog is defunct.
No, no, no - it is alive and well. I don't have much to say today after the spanking the Cleveland Clowns put on my beloved Cincinnati Bengals yesterday. It's also much too early in the fantasy football season to begin talking smack. And the normal late summer / early fall activities have kicked into full force. My son, Jared, is part of the Monroe High School golf team this year and is at practice or a match four nights a week. Luckily, most nights he is at Pleasant Hills Golf Club, which is only...
